The Elkton Rotary Club’s online Rotary Auction exceeded its fundraising goal.
Just over $7,000 was raised when the final bids came in just after 6 p.m. Sunday, according to Elkton Rotary President Rhonda Werner, who says that means seven Todd County Central High School graduates will receive $1,000 scholarships.
An anonymous donor pitched in at the last minute and helped the club exceed its goal by $2,000.
Werner says the club will be looking into ways in the coming months to make next year’s auction even more of a success to help more local graduates further their education.
