Cadiz woman fatally struck by vehicle in Lyon County

A Cadiz woman was killed in a vehicle versus pedestrian accident Monday in Lyon County.

Kentucky State Police say 29-year old Katie Coulstring of Cadiz was walking north on Highway 93 at 7 a.m. when she was struck by a northbound pickup driven by 58-year old Lynn Ballard of Eddyville.

Troopers were initially called to the area when someone reported seeing what appeared to be a body in a field near the roadway and Ballard arrived on scene and said it may have been him who hit the woman.

Coulstring was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County coroner.
