Paul DeJong hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning as the St. Louis Cardinals took down the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-1. Game two of the series is tonight at Busch Stadium.
The Milwaukee Brewers erupted for seven hits and 10 runs in eighth to beat the Chicago Cubs 14-4. The Cubs have lost four games in a row heading into tonight’s second game of the series.
The Atlanta Braves are back home to start a series with the New York Mets tonight. Atlanta comes in fresh off a series split with the Cincinnati Reds, having won four of their last seven.
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout was moved to the 60-day injured list as he continues to recover from a right calf strain. Trout suffered the injury on May 17th and was projected to miss six-to-eight weeks. Trout will be out until after the MLB All-Star break and is eligible to return on July 17th for Los Angeles.
