FCS playoff field to be smaller in spring

The NCAA Board of Directors announced Tuesday the FCS playoffs next spring will consist of 16 teams, down from the normal 24. The playoff pairings will be announced April 18th with four rounds of playoffs beginning April 24th. The national championship game will be held anytime from May 14-16 in Frisco, TX.
