Acree appointed Trigg sheriff

Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander has appointed Kentucky State Trooper Aaron Acree as the county’s next sheriff.

He will take over September 1, when the resignation of Sheriff Jason Barnes becomes effective.

Trooper Acree began his law enforcement career 10 years ago with the Cadiz Police Department and began service with KSP in 2015.

He is currently a trooper with Post 2, but previously was assigned to legislative special security detail in Frankfort.
