The Atlanta Braves have removed a sign that reads “Chop On” from near the entrance to Truist Park, but have not yet made a decision on the fans’ tomahawk chop chant. The team changed its slogan from ”Chop On” to ”For The A” for the 2020 season. The change is considered a customary marketing strategy.

NFL

ESPN reports veteran defensive end Michael Bennett, a three-time Pro Bowl selection who has 69.5 career sacks and won a Super Bowl ring during his career, is retiring after 11 NFL seasons. Bennett made the announcement on Instagram today. Bennett played for five different teams.

Golf

Multiple reports indicate PGA Tour player Grayson Murray will not play in this week’s 3M Open due to a positive test for COVID-19. Murray is the seventh golfer to have a positive test since golf’s return. The 3M Open begins Thursday at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, MN.

The global nature of the LPGA Tour and the way the schedule falls for the planned resumption from the COVID-19 pandemic-caused shutdown has created some dynamics rarely seen. According to Golf Channel, the top eight South Koreans in the world will not be at the LPGA Drive On Championship next week at Inverness Club in Toledo. That likely would be the case the following week at the Marathon Classic. Meanwhile, all five Americans among the top 20 in the world ranking
will be at the LPGA Drive On Championship.
