HPD investigating after woman seriously injured in assault

A woman was hospitalized following an assault in Hopkinsville late Monday night.

The 25-year old woman was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with broken bones and other injuries. She was able to tell police that her boyfriend had assaulted her, strangled her until she lost consciousness and restrained her against her will.

The suspect, who has not yet been arrested, also allegedly threatened to kill the woman.
