Widening of KY 911 to begin on March 2

Starting on March 2, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin work on widening KY 911 in southern Christian County.

According to a news release, the construction includes widening KY 911 into five lanes and the starting work will encompass the section of roadway from U.S. 41A to the railroad track.  The speed limit for this area will be reduced to 35 miles per hour in the construction zone. This section of highway is part of a larger project that will ultimately connect with KY 115.

Motorists traveling in this area can expect 8 foot width restrictions and should plan accordingly, remaining alert for slowing or stopped traffic. There will be no signed detour as there will be a lane for each direction of traffic open at all times. The project is slated for completion in the fall of 2020.
