UPDATED: Minor injuries after officer-involved accident on Boulevard

Details have been released on an accident involving a Hopkinsville police officer from Friday afternoon.

The collision report from HPD says 37-year old Officer Jason Clardy was headed north on the north end of Fort Campbell Boulevard responding to a shooting incident with his lights and siren activated when a car driven by 26-year old James Taylor of Hopkinsville turned from a parking lot into his path.

Officer Clardy swerved to miss Taylor and struck the rear of a vehicle operated by 37-year old Rebecca Greene of Hopkinsville. The cruiser continued and struck a pickup operated by 58-year old Otho Kates of Hopkinsville, who was stopped in a parking lot waiting to turn onto the Boulevard.

Officer Clardy and his 17-year old passenger were treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Greene said she would take two small children in her vehicle to the hospital by private vehicle to be checked out.
