Rose asking to be allowed to return to baseball

Pete Rose is asking again for reinstatement to Major League Baseball. The all-time hit king, who was banished for betting on the game, says his punishment is “vastly disproportionate” to that of several Houston Astros players, who are accused in a sign-stealing scheme during the team’s 2017 season. In his new petition, Rose and his lawyers argue Commissioner Rob Manfred has chosen not to punish players guilty of major rules infractions. Rose argues in his 20 page petition his ban should end. Rose is hopeful of getting a meeting with Commissioner Manfred.
