The Kentucky Wildcats scored two touchdowns in the last 15 seconds to defeat Virginia Tech 37-30 in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte. Lynn Bowden hit Josh Ali with a 13 yard touchdown pass to give the Wildcats the lead with 15 seconds remaining and on a third down play, the Wildcats Jordan Wright picked up a Virginia Tech lateral and scored a 28 yard touchdown as time ran out.
In his final game, Wildcat quarterback Lynn Bowden carried 34 times for 233 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for 73 yards and the game winning score in going 6-12. Kentucky wins a bowl game for the second straight season and finishes the season 8-5.
