Male #1 in Lexington Herald Leader Boys Basketball Preseason poll

The Lexington Herald Leader released its preseason Top 25 Boys poll today. Former Hopkinsville coach Tim Haworth, now with the Male Bulldogs, received the number one ranking. Covington Catholic is second, with Madisonville third, Ballard is fourth with Collins High fifth. Warren Central is ranked 8th, Bowling Green 11th, Marshall County 12th and McCracken County 13th.

Hearings continued for suspect in officer shooting case

Autumn Neblett                                                       September Neblett Court proceedings were continued Wednesday morning for three of the four suspects charged in connection with incidents that led to the shooting of Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Davidson in February. Man served with burglary, assault warrant

An arrest warrant for burglary and assault was served late Tuesday night against a Hopkinsville man. It alleges that on October 14, 28-year old Lewis Smith of Hopkinsville and two other male suspects entered the home of his girlfriend without her permission and began kicking, slamming and stomping the victim. HPD investigating another gun theft

Hopkinsville police are investigating another theft of a gun from a vehicle. A loaded 9 mm handgun was stolen out of the console of a vehicle parked on Apache Drive sometime between November 1 and Tuesday, according to a report filed with HPD. No suspects are named and it’s the third gun reported stolen out of a vehicle this week in Hopkinsville.

Cadiz woman injured in two-vehicle crash

A two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon at Madisonville Road and the Bypass injured a Cadiz woman.
