A teen was flown to an Evansville hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Hopkins County Sunday and five others were also injured. Local trooper honored with award

A local man was honored as Kentucky State Police Post 2 trooper of the year Friday at the KSP awards ceremony in Lexington. Trooper Hunter Carroll received the award for the Madisonville post. He thanked his wife and family, saying he wouldn’t be where he is without them. Carroll came to KSP in 2017 after previous service with the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.

Roger Q Mill Road in Todd County closed for bridge upgrades

A rural roadway in western Todd County has been closed to allow for upgrades on a bridge. The bridge located on Roger Q Mill Road just off US 68 in the Fairview area will remain closed for several weeks. Officials say the closure is necessary for the bridge to be upgraded. Motorists will need to detour via Morton Road and Fulcher School Road until the work is complete.

Tractor-trailer fire closes NB traffic of Pennyrile Parkway near 23 mm

Northbound traffic remains closed on the Pennyrile Parkway near the 23 mile-marker, where a tractor-trailer hauling garbage caught fire this morning. Faulty brakes on the trailer caused the tires to ignite and that started a trash fire, according to Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Sanderson. The Franklin Duelers scored six times in the first inning and rolled to a 19-6, seven inning win over the Hoptown Hoppers last night at Tiger Field.
