Fairview VFD elects new board

The community of Fairview elected a new board for its volunteer fire department Friday night.

Cindy O’Bryan is the only member re-elected to continue service on the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department Board and says she’s joined by Mervin Martin, Mark Cunningham, Patrick Collins and Bobby Outland.

O’Bryan says they had very good turnout for the community meeting and the board will have continued discussions in the future regarding what’s next for the department.

The Fairview community rejected a proposal for its fire department to merge with Pembroke’s.
