Cameron, Henry win primaries

Republican Daniel Cameron will face Democrat Greg Stumbo in November to decide who becomes Kentucky’s next attorney general.

Cameron defeated state Senator Wil Schroeder by about 24,000 votes and Stumbo—a former Attorney General—was unopposed. Cameron, who had the support of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, won in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties.

Republican incumbent Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles had no problem advancing and will face Democrat Robert Conway, who beat Joe Trigg by a little less than 70,000 votes.

Former Miss America Heather French Henry ran away with the Democratic nomination for secretary of state and will be opposed by Republican Michael Adams.

Democrat Sheri Donahue defeated Kelsey Coots and Chris Tobe for the nomination for auditor and will face incumbent Mike Harmon in November.

Republican Treasurer Allison Ball went unopposed and will face Democrat Michael Bowman, who won by a wide margin over Josh Mers.
