Flags will be at half-staff at state office buildings Thursday in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier killed last month in Syria.
Governor Matt Bevin gave the order to lower flags for 28-year old Private First Class Michael Thomason of Lincoln Park, Michigan, who died in a non-combat-related incident April 29th in Syria.
His funeral services were scheduled for Thursday.
Thomason was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell.
