HS Softball Roundup: Christian County wins, Hoptown, UHA & Fort Campbell lose Friday

Third ranked Christian County downed Calloway County 13-6 in five innings Friday at Lady Colonel Field. It was a big day for Taylor Shemwell who drove home seven runs thanks to a pair of home runs, one of which was a grand slam. Emmy Blane and Tenley Gilbert also homered for the Lady Colonels. Hannah Sumner went five innings to get the pitching win as Christian County improved to 19-3.

Livingston Central defeated Hopkinsville 9-3 Friday afternoon at Lady Tiger Field. Taiya Straight and Nadia Clayton each had two of Hopkinsville’s six hits with Marley Hancock taking the pitching loss as the Lady Tigers fell to 9-13.

McLean County blasted University Heights 20-2 in five innings. The Lady Blazers fell to 2-8 on the season and are back in action Monday at Dawson Springs.

Fort Campbell lost a doubleheader to Kenwood Friday 11-0 in five innings and 5-4 in the opening game. The Lady Falcons are now 1-12 on the season.
