The Bowling Green Daily News reports Western Kentucky freshman sensation Charles Bassey has been nominated for Conference USA’s Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Bassey has averaged 15.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 34 blocks in Conference USA games this season. He’s trying to become the first Hilltopper to win CUSA Player of the Year honors since WKU joined the league in the 2014-15 season.
