The Hopkinsville Tigers defeated the Christian County Colonels in 8th district action Saturday afternoon at Tiger Gym 53-51. The Colonels led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter before the Tigers came back to take a 30-26 halftime lead. The Tigers then took a 39-38 lead at the end of three periods and got the two point win.
Hopkinsville got 11 points from James Nicholas and 10 points from Don Victor. Jamarius Sharp had just four points but had 12 blocks and 14 rebounds for the Tigers who are now 14-9 and 3-1 in 8th district games. Hopkinsville is back in action next Saturday night at University Heights.
Christian County had a pair of players with double digit scoring as Damikeon Mathis had 14 and Fred Tandy added 11 for the Colonels, now 12-13 overall and 1-3 in 8th district play. The Colonels host Fort Campbell Monday night and play at University Heights Tuesday night.
