Man injured when dump truck overturns in Todd County

A single-vehicle wreck involving a dump truck on US 79 between Guthrie and Allensville injured the driver Friday morning.

It happened about 8:30 a.m. and Todd County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Turner says 45-year old Chris Brooks of Bowling Green had been headed southbound when his Charles DeWeese Construction dump truck hauling gravel went off a steep shoulder of the road and overturned onto its side.

Brooks was taken by EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Weather and inattention are thought to be factors in the accident.

The Todd County Rescue Squad, Todd County Emergency Management and Guthrie Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
