Downtown trick-or-treating set for Halloween night

Hopkinsville’s downtown trick-or-treating will be Halloween evening.

It will go from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. when downtown merchants and local organizations will be located on South Main Street, from East Sixth Street south to East 13th Street, giving out candy and goodies. Adults are encouraged to accompany children ages 12 and under and children should bring their own bags.

There will be no parking on South Main Street, between Seventh and 13th Streets, after 3pm on Wednesday, October 31st.  South Main Street, between Seventh and 13th Streets, will be closed to traffic beginning at 3pm.

As previously reported, local historian William Turner will tell the story of the Bell Witch at the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville at about 5:30 p.m. on Halloween.

Turner told the story to a standing room only crowd Tuesday night at the fellowship hall of Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church in Elkton.
