MLB: Reds lose, Cards, Braves & Cubs win

Trevor Richards allowed three singles, walked one and struck out nine over seven innings as the Miami Marlins shut out the Cincinnati Reds 6-0. The Reds are off today before opening a two game Interleague series tomorrow night at Kansas City.

Miles Mikolas allowed just two hits in seven innings for his 17th win as the St. Louis Cardinals swept the San Francisco Giants with a 9-2 win at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals begin their final home series of the season tonight against Milwaukee.

Lane Adams hit a solo homer in the fifth inning and the Atlanta Braves held on from there for a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at SunTrust Park. The Braves are off today before opening a series tomorrow night at the New York Mets.

Interleague: The Chicago Cubs racked up three runs in the first inning as they folded the Chicago White Sox 6-1 at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Cubs open their final home series tonight against Pittsburgh.
