Hopkinsville Electric System customers can expect to see a small increase on their monthly power bill beginning next month as the utility passes along an increase in TVA rates.
The TVA Board of Directors approved a 1.5 percent retail rate increase for all of their distributors last month and the pass through of that increase will cost the average household an extra $1.60 on a monthly bill.
The rate change will take effect October 1st.
