Jefferson Davis Monument elevator being replaced

After numerous people have gotten stuck in the elevator at Jefferson Davis Monument State Historic Site over the last several years, word has come that the elevator will soon be replaced.

Westerfield Builders, Inc. announced on its Facebook page Monday that it’s been awarded contracts to replace elevators at three state parks—including the monument, Lake Barkley State Resort Park and Rough River Dam State Resort Park in Falls of Rough.
