Alcohol suspected as factor in Parkway crash

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday night on the Pennyrile Parkway in Christian County that injured an Evansville woman.

The report from Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brandon Myers says Terri Brooks of Evansville had been traveling south at a slow rate of speed near the 8 mile-marker and witnesses reported she was swerving from lane to lane.

As she built up some speed, her small pickup left the travel portion of the roadway and struck a guardrail and flipped.

Deputies located a bottle of liquor near her pickup that was still cold to the touch and the report says there was a strong odor of alcohol on her person.

EMS transported Brooks to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries.
