Eugenio Suarez homered for a third straight game as the Cincinnati Reds topped the St. Louis Cardinals 7-3 in the rubber match of their three-game series at Great American Ball Park. Suarez hit a two-run shot in the opening frame and Tucker Barnhart added a two-run bomb of his own and Adam Duvall homered as well. The Reds welcome the Philadelphia Phillies in the first of a four game weekend series this evening with pregame at 5:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League: Pinch-runner Tyler Chatwood scored the deciding run on a throwing error in the eighth inning as the Chicago Cubs edged by the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 at Wrigley Field. Chicago now leads the NL Central by 2 ½ games over Milwaukee. The four game series concludes this afternoon.

The Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers begin a four-game series at SunTrust Park tonight. Atlanta is 54-and-44, a game and a half behind the Philadelphia Phillies for first in the NL East.
