2018 Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame recipients announced

The 2018 Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame inductees were announced today. They include Bob Baffert, trainer of Justify who won this year’s Triple Crown and 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

Other inductees are: Henderson native Sam Ball who played collegiately at Kentucky and later in the AFL and NFL, playing in two Super Bowls and winning one, Benton native Bernie Bickerstaff who has served as a head coach, assistant coach, front office executive and scout. He has worked for two teams who have won NBA titles.

Long time Trinity High football coach Bob Beatty, who has coached the Shamrocks for 19 seasons and was named High School Coach of the Year after winning the Kentucky Class 6-A title, Owensboro native Nicky Hayden a motorcyclist who was tragically killed last year in Italy and longtime horse thoroughbred owners and breeders Ken and Sarah Ramsey.

The ceremony will be held August 22nd at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.
