Tuesday’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ballpark was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on May 19th. Chicago will head to Milwaukee to open up a four-game set starting Thursday while Cincinnati hits the road to visit the Pittsburgh Pirates for a four game set, also starting Thursday.
Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun hit back-to-back solo home runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Milwaukee Brewers past the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4 at Miller Park. Dexter Fowler and Tommy Pham hit solo homers in the first inning and Marcell Ozuna added a two-run shot in the third as St. Louis built an early 4-0 lead. The Atlanta Braves scored four runs in the first inning and four more in the second as they crushed the Washington Nationals 13-6 at SunTrust Park. Freddie Freeman smacked a three-run homer and drove in four, while Preston Tucker also hit a three-run blast for the Braves. Freeman says it’s a nice win after a bad loss Monday:
