Clark-Heard leaving as WKU women’s hoops coach

The Bowling Green Daily News reports Western Kentucky Lady Toppers coach Michelle Clark-Heard is leaving to become the new head coach at the University of Cincinnati. Heard interviewed for the job Monday after interviewing with Ole Miss over the weekend.

Multiple sources tell the Daily News Heard’s salary will increase from $200-thousand per season at WKU to $400-thousand at UC. Clark-Heard was the head coach four seasons at her alma mater and led the Lady Toppers to a 154-48 record. She also spent time as an assistant at Cincinnati from 2002-05.

It was also reported associate head coach Greg Collins will take over as Lady Toppers coach. A source says the school will make an official announcement later today.
