Hopkinsville gets Senior Night sweep

Boys: Hopkinsville had to go to overtime to defeat Owensboro 84-81. Jalen Johnson’s three pointer tied the game at 71 and sent it to the extra frame where the Tigers outscored the Red Devils 13-10. James Nicholas led Hopkinsville with 30 points, Jalen Johnson added 20 and Steven Cager pitched in 19 as Coach Tim Haworth got career win 199.

The Tigers are now 12-13 on the season and close out the regular season tomorrow night at McCracken County, with coverage for Chick Fil A beginning with the Heritage Bank pregame show at 7:15 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.

Girls: Hopkinsville defeated Lyon County 57-47 behind 18 points from Jayla Rose, 16 from Bre Oldham and Anna King pitched in 11. The Lady Tigers improved to 18-8 and return to action tomorrow night closing out the regular season hosting South Warren.
