Comer ‘OK’ after Amtrak crash

Western Kentucky Congressman James Comer was on the Amtrak train carrying GOP lawmakers to a retreat Wednesday morning when it crashed into a garbage truck near Charlottesville, Virginia.

Comer confirmed in a Tweet that he was on the train and reported that he was okay.

The train was headed from Washington, DC to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. One person on the garbage truck was killed and at least one individual on the truck was seriously injured.

The White House confirmed no serious injuries among members of Congress or their families.
