Kentucky State Police arrest Elkton man for fatal shooting

Kentucky State Police arrested an Elkton man for the shooting death of 24-year-old Evan Hall of Guthrie on Sunday. According to police, the shooting happened around 9:20 a.m. Sunday morning. Following the incident, officers reportedly found Hall lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds on Springmont Circle in Guthrie. Pennyrile Counties see lower unemployment in December 2025

By News Reporter Gabby Cedano Unemployment rates fell across all 120 Kentucky counties from December 2024 to December 2025, according to new data from the Kentucky Center for Statistics.   In the Pennyrile region, Christian, Todd and Trigg counties all had unemployment rate decreases. U.S. 41 in Todd County to remain closed during the weekend

EF-1 tornado touches down in Todd County

A tornado landed in north Guthrie early Saturday morning and traveled for over a mile, resulting in snapped trees and power poles and some damaged buildings.  According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, the tornado touched down at 12:38 a.m. and dispersed by 12:41 a.m. The tornado was categorized as an EF-1 and had peak winds of 98 mph.  An outbuilding was destroyed, and other small buildings suffered damage. Local animal shelter receives 25 dogs connected to Todd County cruelty case

The Christian County Animal Shelter is busy after receiving 25 dogs connected to an animal cruelty case in Todd County. Now, staff are processing them so that they can one day find their forever homes.
