Local HRC invites community to MLK Day march, celebration

The third Monday of January marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day each year. To honor his legacy, the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission is inviting the community to its annual MLK Day March and celebration on January 19. HCC receives grant from Gene Haas Foundation to support CNC students

The Gene Haas Foundation presented an $8,000 grant to Hopkinsville Community College to provide scholarships for students enrolled in computer numerical control (CNC) programs. KCTCS fall enrollment jumps 6.4 %, topping 70,000 students

HCC, MSU Presidents sign agreement for shared faculty member position

Hopkinsville Community College President Alissa Young and Murray State University President Ron Patterson signed an agreement for the two campuses to have a shared faculty member on Thursday. Federal grant to support student services at Hopkinsville Community College

Hopkinsville Community College received a five-year federal grant totaling over $1.7 million from the U.S. Department of Education with the goal of increasing student retention. Over the next five years the grant is set to annually provide $352,000 toward HCC’s TRIO Student Support Services which offers tutoring, advising, skill workshops, university transfer trips and financial literacy counseling.   By supporting those services, HCC officials hope to increase retention rates among […]
