He carded an even-par 71. Five are tied for second place at four-under, while Rory McIlroy is in a large group that share seventh place at minus-three.
Kentuckian JB Holmes had an even par 71 Thursday while Justin Thomas had a two over 73.
After off season shoulder surgery, Franklin’s Kenny Perry makes his PGA Tour Champions debut at the Insperity Invitational in The Woodlands TX. Fellow Kentuckian Steve Flesch is also in the field.
