(New York, NY) — Major League Baseball is suspending Mets pitcher Max Scherzer for 10 games after he was found with a foreign substance on his hand during a game. The league announced the suspension on Thursday after Scherzer was ejected from Wednesday’s win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth inning. The right-hander claimed he was only using rosin and will begin the suspension immediately. Scherzer was inspected three times by umpire Phil Cuzzi, who found that even after the pitcher washed his hands, the glove and hands remained noticeably sticky.

Louisville used a three-run first inning to beat Charlotte 6-2. The Bats are now 6-and-11. Nashville plated three runs in the top of the ninth inning to secure a 3-1, comeback victory over Jacksonville. The Sounds are 9-and-9 on the season. All three teams continue their series tonight.
