Rep. Jason Petrie files for re-election

Representative Jason Petrie of Elkton will seek re-election to that seat in 2020, after filing his paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office Friday.

Petrie has served the 16th district since 2016, after defeating incumbent Democrat Martha Jane King in that election. The 16th District includes all of Todd and Logan and a small section of Warren County.

In his time in office, Petrie has chaired the House Judiciary Committee, been a supporter of pension and tax reform, and received a Kentucky League of Cities Friend of Kentucky Cities Award for his work in the legislator.
