With multiple rounds of heavy rain possible in the forecast for the next few days, the National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Flood Watch for the entire area.
According to the National Weather Service, the Flood Watch is in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon until late Saturday night, as multiple rounds of thunderstorms could lead to primed conditions for flash flooding. With the ground already saturated, rapid runoff is likely to occur in the event of heavy downpours.
Localized total rainfall amounts could be between three-to-five inches across the area.
Some severe storms are possible, with the primary threat being damaging winds of up to 60 miles per hour. That could lead to some trees uprooting, which might result in scattered power outages.
