The United States Department of the Army has announced that there will be a rotation of Fort Campbell forces to the Southern border, bringing some troops back home and sending others on deployment.
According to a news release, the division’s 1st Mobile Brigade “Bastogne” will deploy from Fort Campbell to the Southern border, replacing the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, in a one-for-one replacement. Headquarters, 1st Armored Division, will deploy from Fort Bliss, Texas, to the Southern Border to replace the 101st Airborne Division Headquarters.
Brigadier General and Deputy Commanding General Travis McIntosh says, “We look forward to welcoming the Division headquarters element back home. We also wish Bastogne good luck as the heard toward their next rendezvous with destiny!”
