Christian County High School track stars Satona Bailey and Symeria Brown continue to have a stranglehold on their respective races in western Kentucky.
Bailey won the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash and Brown captured the girls’100-meter dash and 400-meter dash Saturday at the Muhlenberg Inviational.
Bailey helped Christian County’s boys’ team take fifth place in the 20-team event with 73 points.
The Colonels’ Thomas Johnson also had an impressive day as he took second in the boys’ long jump with a leap of 18-feet, 7 inches.
JD Telensru finished fourth in the Discus with a toss of 103-feet, 11 inches. Teammate Jimmarion Byrd was eighth (91-feet, 2 inches). Telensru also finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 40-feet, 3.25 inches. Byrd was 10th.
The Colonels’ Frank Irvin finished fifth in the boys’ High Jump with a leap of 5-feet, 4 inches.
Tavarous Haskins claimed a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 18-feet, 7 inches.
Lucas Coates also earned a top-10 finish, taking sixth in the 3,200-meter run.
Christian County’s boys’ relay teams continued their strong seasons as well.
The 200-meter relay team of K. Bailey, D. Harris, Paul Abren, and T. Johnson took third place while the 100-meter relay team of Karmelo Bailey, Abren, Johnson, and S. Bailey also finished third.
The 800-meter relay team of Clark, Cline, Coates, and Bryce Hamlin was fourth in 9:10.91 and the 400-meter relay team of S. Bailey, Cline, Max Ray, and K. Bailey finished seventh.
Max Ray took seventh in the 400-meter dash and Mason Clark was 10th in the 800-meter run.
The Lady Colonels took sixth place in the meet.
Jazymn Rodriguez ran an impressive 100-meter dash, taking third place.
Takiyah Davie earned a pair of Top-10 finishes by taking eighth in the discus and 10th in the shot put.
Shyla Haverstick also took 10th in the 400-meter dash.
The Lady Colonels’ 400-meter relay team of Brown, Haverstick, K. Quarles, and A. Brown finished third.
