Chicago man arrested in connection with Madisonville robbery

The Madisonville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery that happened earlier this year at Pappy’s Convenience store.

According to a news release, detectives have served an arrest warrant for first-degree robbery against Christopher Oneil of Chicago.  Oneil allegedly entered the Grapevine Road business on January 28 and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at store employees, demanding money.

Investigation by the Madisonville Police Department, Kentucky State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation also identified Oneil as the suspect in another robbery that occurred in Missouri.

Oniel was taken into custody in Chicago and will be extradited back to Hopkins County.
