Library Executive Director talks outreach, impact on community

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library gave an update to Christian Fiscal Court recently about what happenings are taking place at the public library and across the county.

Executive Director Tiffany Luna says the Hopkinsville Imagination Library continues to see great success not just in Christian County but also on Fort Campbell, with 1,100 children enrolled in 2023 and over 37,000 books mailed out to children between the ages of 0 and five years old at no cost to the families.

Their presence on Fort Campbell has grown due to some changes on post, and they’re eager to become even more active in that area.

Luna says they have over 20,000 visits to the library in the last six months, and issued over 700 library cards, showing that the public library stays a hub of activity in the community.

She says heading into the future they intend to continue focusing on community outreach, building on the programs they already have, especially expanding their outreach into communities outside of Hopkinsville, such as Crofton, Pembroke, Oak Grove and more. Because, as Luna says, they’re not just the Hopkinsville Public Library—they’re the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
