Local police investigate reported firearm theft

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating the reported theft of a firearm that was stolen from a residence on Jessup Street during December.

According to an incident report from police, the gun owner reported on Friday that a Mossberg shotgun had been taken from his home some time between December 6 and December 22.   

The shotgun is said to be worth $225 and police are investigating the incident as theft by unlawful taking or disposition of a firearm.
