Kentucky State Police is investigating a crash from Wednesday night in Trigg County that killed an Illinois man.
According to a news release, the two-vehicle collision occurred around 11 p.m. near the 62-mile-marker of I-24, when a vehicle hauling a box trailer and driven by 62-year-old Dariusz Kowalewicz of Wheeling, Illinois struck an unoccupied vehicle that was parked in the shoulder.
His vehicle then traveled down an embankment and came to a stop in a woodline. Kowalewicz had to be extricated from the vehicle and then was transported to an out-of-state hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
