Indictment: Man charged with murder for 2020 crash had fentanyl in system

A Todd County Grand jury indictment says the man charged with murder for a 2020 fatal wreck on Graysville Road was under the influence of fentanyl.

As previously reported, Kentucky State Police and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office served 26-year old Christopher Stokes of Guthrie with an indictment Wednesday night for murder and he was lodged in the Todd County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The true bill obtained by WHOP News says Stokes was under the influence of fentanyl when he crossed into oncoming traffic on August 14, 2020 and struck a vehicle operated by 68-year old Suzanne Rose Reynolds of Clarksville.

Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene and Stokes received treatment for injuries at a local hospital.

Billy Faughn

Meanwhile, the grand jury issued a superseding indictment against 44-year old Billy Jo Faughn of Hopkinsville for another fatal 2020 crash.

He was already charged with murder, DUI and possession of marijuana and he’s now indicted as a persistent felony offender due to previous convictions for bail jumping and possession of methamphetamine.

Kentucky State Police investigated the July 29, 2020 crash and allege Faughn traveled 402 feet after leaving Blue and Gray Park Road before striking 71-year old Sarah “Janie” Barrow and pushing her through the wall of a garage.

Barrow later died at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Police say Faughn performed poorly on field sobriety tests and it’s believed he was under the influence of narcotics. Excessive speed was also listed as a factor in the crash.
