Kentucky’s 2021 unemployment rate was 4.7 percent

Kentucky’s annual unemployment rate for 2021 was 4.7 percent.

That’s according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics, which says that was down from 6.4 percent in 2020.

The U.S. annual unemployment rate fell to 5.3 percent in 2021, down from 8.1 percent in 2020.

Pandemic closures and lockdowns were major factors in the higher 2020 figures in Kentucky and nationally.
