Wintry weather was a factor in a single-vehicle accident on US 68 in Elkton Thursday morning that injured a Russellville man.
Elkton Police Chief Robert Toombs says 49-year old Richard Armstrong of Russellville had been headed west just before 6:30 a.m. when he lost control of his pickup on the bridge near Pond River Road that was covered in ice.
Armstrong went off the left side of the road and into the median before colliding with a guardrail.
The pickup overturned before coming to rest and Armstrong was taken by EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital for treatment of back pain.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
