The Christian County Board of Health on Tuesday night chose interim public health director Devin Brumfield to serve as director of the Christian County Health Department, effective Monday.
He will start with a salary of just under $35 an hour, as decided unanimously by the board.
Brumfield served as administrative services coordinator at the Christian County Health Department before being appointed interim director following the resignation of former director Kayla Bebout and previously worked at Pennyroyal Mental Health.
Dr. Joe Dempsey is the Board of Health chair and says Brumfield stood out as the best choice among those interviewed.
The hire is pending state approval, which is expected to come.
