Local man served with warrant for strangulation, assault

A Hopkinsville man accused of choking and shoving his ex-wife was served with an arrest warrant Saturday morning.

Hopkinsville police located 22-year old Gage Haynes of Hopkinsville at an apartment on North Elm Street and served him with the warrant for two counts of first-degree strangulation and one count of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

It alleges that in August and September of last year, Haynes used his hands to choke his ex-wife and that in August, he also shoved her against a wall and caused an injury to her arm.

Haynes is lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
