Ky. adds 11,232 COVID cases, positivity rate at 27.39 percent, both records

Kentucky tallied its highest COVID-19 case count yet since the beginning of the pandemic, reporting 11,232 Wednesday.

It brings the overall case total up to 952,956—the positivity rate increased once again, now at 27.39 percent, another new record. Every county in Kentucky stayed ‘red’ on the state incidence rate map.

There were 21 newly reported deaths, bumping the death toll up to 12,455. There are currently 2,011 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 454 in the ICU and 243 on a ventilator.
