Local woman served with felony theft warrant

An arrest warrant for felony theft was served Monday night against a Hopkinsville woman.

It alleges that between October 1 and 31 while employed at Murphy Oil in front of Walmart, 26-year old Melveshia Wright of Hopkinsville took over $1,000 worth of lottery proceeds by playing games without paying for them.

The warrant says Wright admitted to the conduct and she’s charged with felony theft.
